What MadFonts Is
MadFonts is a catalog that hosts font files, images, and information provided by or attributed to their original creators. Our goal is to help users discover fonts and to promote designers. We may mirror files on our servers for availability, organization, and showcase purposes.
Ownership & Creator Rights
Creators retain all rights in their fonts, images, names, trademarks, and descriptions.
Hosting, previewing, and listing on MadFonts is done for fair use/fair dealing and/or promotional/marketing purposes, or with permission where applicable.
We do not claim ownership of any third-party fonts or brand assets featured on the Site.
If you are a rights holder and want something updated or removed, contact us with the font name, the URL on MadFonts, and proof of ownership. We respond promptly.
Download Types & Licenses (Your Responsibilities)
You are responsible for following the license terms set by each font’s creator. Licenses vary per font:
- Demo/Personal Fonts: Provided for evaluation/personal testing. Commercial use requires purchasing a license from the creator. We include or link a “Buy”/license page where provided.
- Free for Commercial Use: Some creators allow commercial use for free, subject to their license terms (e.g., attribution, restrictions). Always check the included LICENSE.txt or the creator’s page we link to.
- Other License Types: SIL OFL, freeware, shareware, or custom licenses may apply. The license file in the download, creator’s README, or linked creator page is the controlling document.
MadFonts does not grant permissions or licenses beyond what creators provide. When in doubt, contact the creator before using the font.
Accuracy & Availability
We work to keep listings accurate (names, licenses, links, images), but licensing and terms can change at the creator’s discretion. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free listings, or that every license note is current. Always verify the license inside the download or on the creator’s website.
Prohibited Uses of the Site
