With the goal of preserving and promoting the historical memory of Crato, a Brazilian municipality in the state of Ceará, the “Cratense” typeface was inspired by Northeastern architecture and developed from photographic documentation of the parapets in the city center.
These parapets are still very common in the city and, as a form of artistic expression by master bricklayers, they have left unique marks that have become part of the identity of small towns. As a display typeface, it is ideal for titles and short texts.
