deFÊRA is a display typeface primarily inspired by the hand-drawn lettering created by vendors at the open-air market in Rochdale, a neighborhood in the city of Osasco, São Paulo, Brazil. Comprising the full Latin alphabet, the typography is available in both OpenType and TrueType formats.
The font features three distinct graphic styles, which we chose to distribute across the uppercase and lowercase characters; as a result, one of the alphabets is included as an alternate. Each alphabet was created based on signs found at the market and was crafted by three different individuals to emphasize the variations in tools and handwriting styles.
