ProtoScript Font

ProtoScript is a set of unique graphemes with no direct semantic equivalents in any existing language. Simply put, it’s a fictional alphabet inspired by the aesthetics of Japanese katakana, East Asian scripts, futuristic trends, and sci-fi culture. ProtoScript is a fusion of abstraction and recognizable graphic elements, drawing inspiration from Japanese calligraphy and typographic traditions.

Data Projections ProtoScript is a conceptual system for visualizing data as slice projections of point clouds (information) arranged in 3D space. As a visual metaphor — think of star clusters and planetary systems forming galaxies and nebulae in space, with outlines and visible contours. A more familiar comparison would be the Zodiac signs, where symbolic forms emerge from patterns of points — but here we are dealing with entirely different scales of data and an infinite number of possible symbols and graphemes.

The font was created as an art project aimed at designers, concept artists, game developers, and interface designers. Design often answers questions. ProtoScript asks them instead.

This project is an experiment in non-semantic typography: type as texture, atmosphere, and mystery. ProtoScript is not designed for immediate reading; instead, it functions as a symbolic system rather than a standard alphabet.

ProtoScript Font is free for personal use. Extended commercial license coming soon. 3D glyph set is also in development.
